European Adventure Part IV: Prague

Better late than never?! Thanks to my beautiful friend Mary Susan for motivating me to write on my blog...I've tried. I really have. But I guess maybe I just needed a break...

But here it is (better late than never) pictures of my favorite European city, thus far: Prague!

Best. Thing. EVER. Some sort of Czech pastry rolled in sugar and cinnamon and served hot. YUMMM!

European Adventure 2012 Part III: Vienna

Hey y'all...it's FRIDAY! Yay! This weekend will be spent getting my life back in order and decorating for Christmas, but first...Vienna!!! I don't have much time today to write about the city, but figured I'd go ahead and put up some pics!

Vienna was cold and wintery during our 3 days there - basically exactly what we wanted. The architecture and "feel" reminded me of Paris, but not as...romantic. Yep, so cliche, but so true. Vienna defnitely felt like a big city - the river walls were covered in graffiti - but the history and the building/palaces that houses the royal family are stunning. It also happens to host the largest Christmas Market in Europe. There really is nothing prettier than an old cathedral drenched in Christmas lights. Alright so now for pictures...I'll let them do the story-telling today!

Weinersnitchel on day 1 - duh!
The giant cathedral in town square - SO BEAUTIFUL!

The night-time lighting was unlike anything I'd ever seen.
 Royal Apartments
Christmas lights in the streets AND cold weather! Love it.
National Library
Wandering around all the royal stuff...there was ALOT of royal stuff.

Seriously, one of the prettiest things I've ever seen.

Lunch. Seriously.
Wine time with momma on our last night

View from the worst restaurant ever...cool view though
Cuddling up for the 5 hour train ride to Prague and the last leg of our adventure!

Happy Weekend! I'll be back next week with Prague!

European Adventure 2012 Part II: Salzburg

Good morning! Ok so where were we?

Oh yes...onto Salzburg, Austria...one of the most BEAUTIFUL places I've ever been. The scenary is idealic, the people were (relatively) friendly, and one of my favorite movies was filmed there: The Sound of Music (I could seriously picture Julie Andrews spinning in the mountains singing "The hills are aliveeeeeeee")! Salzburg is a very close second to my favorite place on this trip (Prague), and some of the coolest things we saw were in Salzburg.

Salzburg at night
Mom and Dad in front of our hotel
 Dinner the first night
The SUPER cute cobblestone streets of the market
 View from my room
Mom and Dad outside the oldest bakery in Europe. The brioche was AMAZING. Melt-in-your-mouth amazing.
An old cemetery - there were graves dating back to the 1500s

Entrance to the catacombs - SO cool
On our hike through the katacombs and up to the fortress above Salzburg
Entrance to the fortress, built in the 1400s
View from the fortress
It was slightly bright
Like a movie
An afternoon spent wandering Salzburg alone ended with champagne and apple streudel at the hotel because why not?!
Locks on the bridge...couples that hope they'll spend forever together write their initials on the locks and affix them to the bridge. It's so pretty!
Dinner at the oldest restaurant in Europe - so yummy
At the train station....leaving sunny Salzburg for wintery Vienna!

Thats it for Salzburg....tomorrow - Vienna! :)

xo,
